Blue Fern Studios - June Challenge

Have you had a chance to check out the new SKETCH on the Blue Fern Studios blog yet?
Today is the last opportunity so get in quick!!

Michele Singh has created this fabulous sketch...

At first I really liked the opportunity of TWO photos but then I really enjoy creating a vertical cluster - it's always a great challenge, so this is what I created -

At the recent Brisbane Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo, I asked Debra the owner of Bella Paperie to choose a few random sheets of Blue Fern Studios papers - this is one of them!
Love Story 'Sweet Song' which I covered with the Kaisercraft template 'Bricks' and sprayed Prima Colour Bloom 'Worn Leather', flicked a little Lindy's Stamp Gang "Moonshadow" 'Buccaneer Bronze' and sprayed "Starburst" 'bells of Ireland Green' along the centre strip.
The Blue Fern Studios 'Daisies Collage' designed by Michele Singh was sprayed with Glimmermist 'Its' Red' and Memories Mist 'Red' and the title 'Happiness' from the Good Vibes pack designed by Michele Singh was covered with Dylusions 'White Linen' and sprinkled with a little red too!
Embellished with a few Manor House Creations and Prima flowers and my favourite Gardenia's, rose buds and felt heart in red from My2angels.

Photo is from 1974 and is ME!! Sitting down to a tea party at a cute little table and chairs - cute!

Kaisercraft DT 2014-2015 Favourites!!

The Kaisercraft team from 2014-15 were asked to create a blog post about our
FAVOURITES...

do you know how difficult that choice has been!

I have regularly created 2 layouts, 2 cards and 2 'Off the page' items for EACH of the THREE collections EACH month!!
So I have had plenty of projects to choose from... but narrowed it down to things that were significant to me :)

This was 'December' in the Calendar  - I created a different page for each month, with each of the new collections released - the tree is one whole page fussy cut into shapes and then adhered as a tree for Christmas - it will make a lovely gift for someone!! This is the 'Oh so lovely' collection

OSL Calendar

This layout of Aunty Sandra with the 'On Stage' collection is still hanging on her wall...must of been her favourite!! By choosing just the black, white and red patterns and collectables and the great photo it came together easily! This was the first release of the new dies...exciting times!!

This is one of my 'Tuesday Tips' -  when Kaisercraft released new Embossing Folders, I knew I could show just a few simple ideas to create quick and easy cards!!

When Kaisercraft released the 'Kraft journal', this was my very first page - this journal is almost full just with Kaisercraft collections - I like to use patterned papers and always a 'word or verse' as a reminder each day!

Hello Today Journal Page rs

I still think these are cute cards from way back when 'Tropical Punch' was released... with it's fun, colourful patterns and images, it's perfect for any occasion!

Tropical Punch - Card Set rs

'Outdoor Trail' was very much about the Men in our lives but by choosing the burnt oranges patterns, which was perfect for our friends wedding in Bali and this photo, I was able to make a pretty layout for their album!!

Kaisercraft - June Collection - In the Wild

Most of us will have some Zoo that we haven't scrapped as we couldn't find the perfect papers...well this is the collection for you!

"Discover animals" layout
Along with all the African animals there is also a some of our Australian natives!! This photo of our son Tim, taken at Currumbin Sanctuary (a few years ago!) was just what was needed for all the images of koalas - I fussy cut, trimmed so I could use them all!itw
The specialty paper was used as a stencil and then the 'dots & diamonds' strip were cut from the chevrons to use as vertical lines.
Kaisercraft products - P1867 Giraffe, P1870 Safari, P1871 Zoo, P1868 Animalia, PS413 Outback, PS414 Desert, PP972 Paper Pad, CT830 Collectables, SS285 Sticker Sheet, KM102 Antique Gold, KM107 Peach, KM105 Orange.
"I'm wild about you" layout
One piece of specialty paper (the circular piece) cut into the 3 parts was used for both of these layouts - good value! The specialty with the chevrons was folded back onto itself to make a decorative photo mat - and as it was used as a stencil for the above layout it was already coloured - bonus!
in the wild 1
Fussy cut the title individually...added a cluster of flowers, a few stickers and done!
Kaisercraft products - P1870 Safari, P1868 Animalia, PS413 Outback, PS414 Desert, PP972 Paper Pad, SS285 Sticker Sheet, F628 Paper blooms 'Honey', F633 Paper Blooms ;Olive;, F653 Mini Paper Blooms ;Ruby', F650 Mini Paper Blooms 'Olive'.
Aunty Sandra is over in Africa as I write this, and I was going to pinch a few of her photos from Facebook....she is going to LOVE this collection - perfect timing!!

Scrapping Outback - June challenge

Did you see the challenge over at Scrapping Outback?

This is it -

Did you know, one of my favourite colours is GREEN?
...and I love Mint too!!
Our niece sent some photos of her new Daughter, Sienna - so beautiful - and this was one of them...she is so peaceful...

Technically I have disqualified myself by not starting with white cardstock but that's okay ;)
It's actually a sheet of Blue Fern Studios "Ombre Dreams' (Gingers Dream, for those playing along at home!) I used the backing card from the tag pack of Julie Nuttings - has a finish which is great for wetting and dripping colour to pool...and then I polished it with a paper towel.
I spritzed the Prima crochet edge pieces in Tim Holtz 'Cracked Pistachio' - so pretty! While I had the sprays out, I also sprayed with Lindys Stamp Gang 'Bells of Ireland Green' and 'Bucaneer Bronze' and Memories Mist 'Amaretto' - a bit of everything here and there!
The Scrapmatts Bracket frames were covered in 'Pine Needles' crackle paint - they dried really a bit dark so after it was adhered to the layout I sprayed some Dylusions 'White Linen' (it is the best WHITE spray) Everything is inked in Versamagic 'Jumbo Java' (some would say, 'the' best brown!)
A little layering with pre-made banners (It's so easy, its almost cheating?) and finished embellishing with a few Manor Hose Creation flowerss, and a couple I picked up at Tj's Scrapping with Style.

Sienna has a bunch of older Brothers and Sisters who adore her - lucky!!

White with One - June - Biscay Bay

...and here is another fabulous colour to create a layout with white and maybe a little black...

Cool colour right!
This is what I did with it...

I had been using Resin and with the 'leftovers' from the project, I drizzled it across some white cardstock thinking I'd come back to use it... sometime...fast forward a few months and the White with One challenge always needs a white base, so I started with it!!
Prima Colour Bloom 'Summer Sky, Glistening Waves and Cobalt', along with Dylusions 'London Blue' and Tim Holtz Distress 'Mermaid Lagoon' were used through the centre sections, a little dripping and a little splattering (coz we all like splattering!!)
I used the tiny attacher to staple the vertical and horizontal strips - all coloured with the various shades of  BISCAY BAY (Blue ;) lol) and also spritzed some Manor House Creations flowers!!
The Scrapmatts chipboard "String Circles" and "Assorted Words" were inked in black and a little Dimensional Magic smeared over to finish. The rest of the title 'Little One' is from a really old Pebbles pack - do you remember those?
I also found some jigsaw puzzle chipboards which I covered in 'Broken China' Crackle Paint, dried and then sprayed a little over to pick up the cracks!

This photo was taken when our niece Nerida came down from Cairns in January 2015 and met Wayne (her Nephew) for the first time - lovely memory for them both!!

Kaisercraft Tuesday Tip - 9th June

Yes!! It's my turn again for a Tuesday Tip...

STENCILS -

I was thinking about which products Kaisercraft produce which you may not think of using in a different way. With the introduction of the Kaisermist (10 fabulous colours!!) it's easy to spritz any or a combination through any one of the various Stencils that make up the range...Or smear some modelling paste or Gel Medium through a stencil and have a fabulous effect.

But, did you think of using the stencil as a template for "Doodling"?
I've created a layout using the Brick Stencil ( T606) - chosen for it's larger space to doodle inside of  but any stencil will work.

TT Doodle LO
I've adhered the Specialty paper (PS408 Bloom) together with P1848 Overgrown (the cute pink gingham print and the reverse is the coral floral print which is torn) - Spritz KM110 Pink, KM107 Peach and KM109 Red onto T606 'Bricks', allow to dry and wipe the residual off the gloss images of the Specialty paper - it's like magic!!
TT Doodle LO cl
Again place the Brick Stencil over the sprayed image and using a black fine line pen outline each brick, then just 'Doodle' inside the lines - how easy! I've also fussy cut some bricks in patterned paper to add some coloured bricks - wouldn't an entire brick wall look great as part of a background?
...and 'Doodling' can be incorporated into a card too!!
TT Alison - Card
While you're Doodling, why not Doodle in your envelope liner too!
An assortment of Paper Blooms and Mini Paper Blooms (F640 Fairy Floss, F664 Fire Red, F662 Coral, F663 Hot Pink, F668 Hot Pink, F657 Fairy Floss, F669 Fire Red) were used to embellish around the photo and the Title was from the Script Words Sticker sheet (ST919)
Have you noticed all the Adult Colouring Books that have recently hit the market - why not outline any of the Kaisercraft Stencil and start colouring...I think the Doiley and the Butterflies would look fantastic 'coloured'!!
If you try this technique, please show us your results on the Kaisercraft Facebook page...we'd love to see!!
All you need is a fine line Black pen...

'Brothers' layout by Alison Bevis
The other day our Niece Christine sent me an envelope full of fabulous prints - this of her two older sons Robert and Elijah!! I like the challenge of making a very girly collection more masculine - by using the blues, grey and greens! I fussy cut out random squares (turn the paper 90' from the diamonds) Bit of spritzing with the 3 Kaisermists (residual ink on the stencil formed the base of the journal page too - bonus!)
