Scrapping Outback - March challenge

Oh yes, I have been having some fun on the last day of the March..
Thank you ex-cyclone Debbie?

I had been meaning to check out the
SCRAPPING OUTBACK
challenge for March much earlier in the month,
but here we are on the 31st and I'm blogging!!

The mood board is

Lime green and Yellow!!
Fresh, right?

and the rules are you need to have CHIPBOARD on your page too

Love This

Image may contain: 3 people, people smiling, flower

I started with a sheet of white, sprinkled over the new Lindys Magical shakers - the 'yellow and green' ones? I then sprayed the 'lemon' Marker Maniacs mist to activate the powders - it is SO shimmery!!

Image may contain: plant and flower

Love This is a piece of chipboard from the Imaginarium Designs collection - inked in Kaisercraft 'Saffron' - I think I'll add a coat of Glossy Accents?

Image may contain: flower

How good are all those embellishments!!
I purchased the D-lish Scraps 'Fresh Cuts' "Just Add Paper" kit in February and totally ran out of days to participate (Sorry Amanda!!) but then the Scrapping Outback challenge is the perfect match - I even used the floral stencil included with some Whipped Spackle.

Photo is of 3 gorgeous sisters - Ciara, Shakaela and Taneisha a few years ago - a lovely memory for them all to cherish!!

Sketchy Boards challenge - March 2017

I found a little spare time while Ex-cyclone Debbie gave everything a good soaking - we didn't have water damage to anything in our home, just a couple of temporary waterfalls... the frogs however, are loving the rain!!

Sketchy Boards has a sketch

and an inspiration image

Image may contain: sky and outdoor

while I was shuffling papers...
I found a sheet with cute little chickens with red umbrellas -
I think perhaps I had planned an Easter project but the umbrellas from the image was a lovely match, don't you think?

My Cheeky Grin

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, table and indoor

I have roughly followed the sketch with a horizontal band through the  centre of the page.

No automatic alt text available.

The title is a couple of pieces of Imaginarium Designs chipboard inked with Kaisercraft 'Red' ink.

A little floristry with the beautiful 49 & Market flowers (Purchased from Bella Paperie)

Photo is our Katelyn in Preschool at Boyne Island... about a dozen years ago - she will celebrate 17 in August!!

White with 1 - Orange Peel - March 2017

Just made the March 31st deadline!!
Wow, where is this year going?
Apprantly, I'm having too much fun!! lol

I have a subscription to
The Resin Rainbow
and for $10 (inc postage!)
you receive a bunch of matching embellishments,
mostly hand poured resins (Thank you Janet)
and I try to use ALL the bits on my page...

First Glimpse.... Happy

Image may contain: 2 people

Starting with a sheet of white cardstock, I sprinkled a little of Lindy's NEW Shaker Magicals - always a bit of random fun!!

No automatic alt text available.

The Resin Rainbow's March kit included various materials which I have mounted my photos onto - the orange spot super wide washi framed the top and bottom and then a paper straw and resins were layered.

No automatic alt text available.

I added my favourite chipboard Imaginarium Designs - a 'First Glimpse' title and the 'Happy' from a birthday set - these were inked with the Distress Oxide ink to match - I dripped a little water too, can you see?

No automatic alt text available.

You might think I've included all of the resins, but no... I have heaps still for another project, or two?

The cute little baby is our niece Samantha's Mason - he is almost 2 now and just became a big brother to Hunter a couple of weeks ago!!

Imaginarium Designs - Chipboard Techniques!!

Over on the Imaginarium Designs blog
this month you'll find some great technique
by some of the fabulous Design Team

Embossing is a lovely way to add a subtle texture to your project - Step 1, Lightly mist both sides of a piece of Watercolour paper or other 'thick' cardstock - Step 2, add your chipboard to the plate, the paper, then a crease mat and/or score mat (work out which pressure works best with your machine?) - Step 3, the result is an embossed design - remember when working with words to lay them under the paper as you want to see them - Step 4, optional, you can run an ink pad over the image and then it's ready to create with - you could add almost anything that fits through your machine and if you don't have a machine you can put pressure with a rolling pin, this is particularly effective if you want to add Embossing to a 12x12 page - enjoy!!

Don't miss the other fabulous techniques over on the blog

More chipboard, more flowers and more of ME, Alison Bevis

Welcome to Monday!!
That means a NEW week with some New inspirations from the
Imaginarium Designs team

Keep an eye out for more FUN CHIPBOARD TECHNIQUES blog posts this month too - so many great ideas to colour chipboard.

I was thinking what I'd like to do for March,
and decided that I had to have something floral on each layout, I know you think - That's easy!!
...and yes, it's always easy to add a few blooms here and there,
so this is what I did...

"A True Love Story Never Ends" layout

A couple of sheets of 'Feature Art' Wedding Collection patterned paper, a bit of lace from 'The Vintage Chicks Club', a bunch of blooms from 'Scrapping with Style at TJ's' and a beautiful Title..

Title painted with 'Prima' paint which changes colour depending on how you tilt the page - it's very shimmery - before the paint had a chance to dry I spritzed the chipboard with a 'Marker Maniacs' Mica Spray - I love the way the mist dried into droplets.

A NEW Flourish - snipped into two to extend your chipboard piece - Coloured with a 'Marker Maniacs' Mica Mist in green - This chipboard is so fine I curled it up and around to sit in the flowers.

You can almost see how shimmery the chipboard becomes when it dried!!

and more florals...
"Beautiful Girl" layout

This layout has only 2 sheets of 'Lemoncraft' patterned paper - a little fussy cutting and then the remainder for some torn layers. A title created with 2 pieces inked in the same shade of purple 'Oxide ink', along with a few of "Nat's Hearts".

The frame inked in a coordinating Blue 'Oxide ink' to frame this lovely photo of Father and Daughter.

The Flourish has been inked and misted with a couple of shades of green.

and another one of "Nat's Hearts" gessoed, inked and misted in Green.

and more floral 'Bo Bunny' patterned papers in the
"Magical Moments" layout

All of the patterned paper is from 2 sheets, cut to make the most of the pattern. It was quite busy so I dipped my finger in the Gesso and swiped it around the middle section - I also gave the page a border by dragging my Gessoed finger along the edge. I'll add some journalling to the tag under the photo.

The title has a coat of gesso then randomly pressed onto the ink pad for a speckled finish.

Loolabelle's Star Bursts were also gessoed, inked and then lightly misted - while the mist was still wet I covered them with 'glossy accents' - and look at how they dried with a variegated orange look - I thought it was a little cool?

The Frame was inked, a little dribble of crackle paint, then covered with 'glossy accents' before sprinkling tiny glass micro beads all over the rectangular frame - I hope you get a chance to try this, it creates an almost luminous finish to the chipboard... which was perfect for my sunset photo!!

There is so many NEW designs of chipboard -
You will find an assortment of TITLES on the Imaginarium Designs website - HERE

I have included new flourishes - there is similar ones - HERE

Nat's Hearts, Hand Drawn Leaves and Loolabelle's Star Bursts are in the Designer section - HERE

There is a huge variety of Frames - HERE - I loved the 'Photo Frame 1'

Yes my husband Anthony and I on our Wedding day and more recently on our 25th Wedding Anniversary - the other photo is of our Great niece and her Dad!!
