Kraft Plus - August challenge - Zentangling!!

Zentangling!!
I loved it in Senior High school Art classes...
My friend Mazz, does "Mazztangling"
and it's so relaxing, how could I not participate!!

and this is my layout..

I started with a sheet of Kaisercraft 12x12 Kraft...
I knew I wanted to cover the whole sheet! So to leave a Title I found these cool Amy Tangerine Thickers in 'kraft' (Dream, Of & Life) My friend Tanya cut the 'Your & Amazing' on her Cricut (I'm old school ;) lol) - by adding the title in kraft I could then doodle around the letters, leaving them to stand out!
I traced a few stencil shapes to get me started - various ones I found at Tj's Scrapping with Style at last Friday night's Crop! AND then I doodled... and doodled...and doodle some more!!
I do love colour, and although the Kraft and Black combination looked great, I added some red and yellow embellishments to pick up the coloured spots on the girls faces?

Photo is our beautiful great nieces Shakaela and Taneisha - they have Aboriginal heritage and I'll give this page to their Mum to journal the story behind the photo!

Charm's Creations - August challenge

I've participated in the Monthly challenge a couple of times but,
have been using Charms Creations in some layouts for other challenges lately,
so, thought I should buy some DIY and alter one for the challenge this month!!

and this is what I did..

I altered the MAP MARKER and Charmane sent me a sneaky TERRIFIC TAB with my last order - I sprayed Prima 'Cotton Candy' then dripped 'Peony' & 'Summers Sky' - it looks a little like the pretty flowers of the background paper, don't you think?
The TAB was sprayed with Kaisercraft 'Peach' then dripped with 'Turquoise' - they remind of a small Pocket, could easily add to a little boy card with something hanging out of it? or a Masculine card as a suit pocket with a flower or hanky popping over the edge?
Anyway,
I've used the fabulous COCOA VANILLA 'Hello Lovely' - Flower Patch and Lucky Dip papers AND the matching flowers! ...makes a lovely Title to, I think! This is almost two sheets - one as the background and the elements and black spotty paper is another sheet - just cut cleverly?
Photo is Shakaela and Sienna... gorgeous girls!!

Dusty Attic - August challenge

It's August... hooray!!
I think I forgot to link my July challenge, so I am reminding myself !!

This is the
MOOD BOARD

So beautiful.... right?
I searched for Yellow...and shades of lavendar
AND, then this happened...

Debi from "Chipboard Crazy" came to my Workshop Wonders August event and brought some fabulous chipboard designs... she gifted me these beautiful DA designs - how can you not love them!!
I started with the "Decorative Frame #2" - gessoed the lot - and the "Word Pack #17 " - then sprayed them with Tim Holtz Distress spray in 'Seedless Preserves' (let it dry , then spray again, and again - gives you a variegated finish)
I also used this spray and TH 'Fossilized Amber', Heidi Swapp 'Amethyst' and created the drips and a little through the Prima 'Lace' stencil (it's such a delicate design!)
Can you see the fairies legs under the M of the title? It's actually a Prima sheet from 'Fairy Rhymes' collection (Sweet Briar) - initially I was going to have the fairy be the 'Tooth fairy' but...she flew away!!
I picked up a bunch of blooms from "My2Angels" ...and a few from "Tjs Scrappin With Style" and even squeezed a Prima bloom in there too!!

Photo is of Katelyn's reaction when she her FIRST tooth fell out - big grin!

Scrapping Outback - August challenge

Did you see the photo inspiration over at the Scrapping Outback blog?

This -

The rules are to use WHITE and all the colours in the picture AND one piece of chipboard....easy right? and fun too!!
I gathered some shades of blue and navy....
and some COCOA VANILLA "Flying High" (Super Star), the sticker sheet and wood veneers...
and...

Punched around the edge of Kaisercraft white cardstock, cut into three sections and adhered to the CV blue background (reverse of 'Super Stars') sprayed the Kaisercraft Stars template with Kaisermist in 'Turquoise and denim', Prima 'Summer Sky & Cobalt' - used the residual as a stap in my art journal (coming soon?)
Added a little Builders Mesh.. for some tough, some Kaisercraft crochet doilies... for a little softness - made a huge splat with Tim Holtz Distress Stain in 'Mustard Seed' - it's a funky kind of sun?
Don't you love that 'map marker' handmade by "Charms Creations" - perfect colours for this challenge, how good was that!! I won the "Funky Flair" as a prize in a challenge so tucked it in too!

Photo is out Tim, flying a kite off the verandah at our home at Boyne Island - fun!!

Sharon Young's CTMH August challenge

I hadn't participated in Sharon's CTMH Challenge (Facebook Group) for a few months, so
I checked out the sketch...

Cute, right?
I always prefer to use Close to my Heart papers, cardstock and embellishments - if possible!
and this is what I did with the sketch..

I've used papers from the Close To My heart "Free to be Me" collection - fussy cut a few feathers from one sheet... and the 'Hello Dreams' sub-title.
I heat embossed some intricate Feather chipboard from Imaginarium Designs (the Photo mount is the packaging - perfect shade of orange!)  - used Lindy's Stamp Gang 'Orange Creamsicle' from "Under the Boardwalk" and Stampin' Up! 'Tangerine Tango' - lovely finish!
Sprayed a little drippage with Prima 'Tangerine', Heidi Swapp 'Coral', Tim Holtz 'Abandoned Coral' and my favourite Kaisercraft 'Orange & Peach' - love the shimmer!!
Finished embellishing with an orange heart handmade by Charms Creations - so cute and the sewing is done!! Added some Manor House Creations Flowers and a couple of randoms too!

Photo is our great Niece Sienna when she was just a few days old - she is totally gorgeous!!

White with One - August challenge "CUSTARD"

Finally, A White with One colour without the weird name! hahah

"CUSTARD"

it's a delicate shade of  Yellow

[custard4.jpg]

made me think of cooking a batch of custard, but then there is scrapping to do... the custard can wait!

Have you seen the gorgeous products from

LEMONCRAFT...

We called into Bella Paperie and found a whole lot of choices - fun choices!!
I purchase some papers from the "Heart Painted" collection - Sadness & Love!!
and the white chipboard - bird cage and frame!!
...among a bag full of other things..

The paper has a lovely music print all over and then flowers at two sides (which I have covered with 'Custard' - texture paste coloured with 'Fossilized Amber' - and smeared through the Heidi Swapp 'Bird plus more' stencil)
I've sprayed 'Banana Pudding' over a Prima 6x6 stencil..

Scrapbooking Celebrate Layouts

Tracy from my2angels gifted me a fabulous Handmade embellishment when I was there last Tuesday - exciting!! This Celebrate Charming Word was used as the starting point for the title "Celebrate the cute stuff" - Tracy has mentioned she is thinking of creating them in a variety of colours AND has several new handmade ranges coming soon - keep an eye on the my2angels facebook page and blog for the latest in news

Celebrate has been stamped on shrinky and adhered to a fancy filligree and then a couple of dangles were added - it would look perfect on a Celebratory card too! Birthday, Anniversary or Graduation... so easy to use the word 'Celebrate'!!

Scrapbooking Celebrate Layouts

Flowers are Manor House Creations - and the smaller ones from TJ's scrapping with style!

When Emily was little she showered her big brother Tim with kisses...he wasn't always impressed to receive them but accepted them - she adores him...then and now!!
Alison x

PS: If you buy the Celebrate Charming Word for $2.50 and mention 'Alison' in the box at the checkout, Tracy will include a 'bonus' in your order - offer expires 31.8.15 so get in quick!!

Blue Fern Studios - August Challenge

It's August already!!
Can you believe how fast 2015 is travelling... or maybe I am just having too much fun!!

Such a great sketch again this month..
how can you refuse not to participate!!

I started with a sheet of the new
FROLIC
the blues and greens of
Dans Le Jardin
AND
Amoroso
which had all these fabulous frames to fussy cut!
I've heat embossed
Deja Vu Border
and
Chained Bits
(Designed by Michele Singh)
and the title
LAUGHTER
comes from a pack with Happy and Smile - designed by Janene Meyerowitz.
I love Beck Beatties "Tinby Metallic Melts" and I heat embossed a number of the colours!
Finished embellishing with some Monr House Creations flowers and a couple of metal flowers from my friend Sharon Pick.

Photo is of Anthony and I a couple of years ago, in Malaysia on our 20th Wedding Anniversary!!

Wonderful Wednesday - MY Day on the Kaisercraft Blog

Hello everyone!
I cannot choose which collection is my favourite this month, can you?
But I really do love CHRISTMAS..
and we are on the countdown to December!! So we'll begin with..

HOLY NIGHT

"JOY" Banner
I started by creating a Home Decor 'Banner' using all the pretty white and gold patterns from the collection. The banner is a deleted Kaisercraft Wood Product (unfortunately!) but there is a new Pennant shape which would look lovely too - or you could cut chipboard into a banner shape? You could easily add more banners to make a longer word - Peace, Noel or go all out to do Merry Christmas!!
The letter 'O' is created by punching a few circles, folding them in half and then adhering one half to the next circle, then that half to another circle and so on, so you end up with a 3 dimensional shape - you can do this with any shape that can be folded in half? You can even add a shape to a card front!

Kaisercraft Products -  PS424 Angels | P1913 Wisemen | P1909 Glory | P1911 Angels | P1912 Emmanuel | CT835 Collectables | SS291 Sticker Sheet | FL447 Mini Baubles | FL164 Reindeer | IP724 Bark ink | EM401 Small Envelopes | SB310 letter 'J' | SB325 Letter 'Y' |
Other - Circle punch

"Christmas Cards"

It is NEVER too early to start making cards for your family and friends, never! I think if you added a different greeting to the card on the right it could easily be given as a Happy Birthday or Thank you card - the roses and little yellow flowers are not traditionally 'Christmas' - how versatile!!

holy card

I always use the leftover paper to line the envelope... that way it always matches and there is no waste!
Kaisercraft Products -  P1913 Wise Men | P1914 Blessing | P1902 Glory | P1911 Angels | CT835 Collectables | CD508 card Pack 'Square' | CD512 Card pack Kraft C6 |

Gold always adds a touch of elegance, so
A Touch of Gold
was lovely to create projects with, including

"Precious" Layout
With Triangles and graphic images a more modern layout to showcase a cute Mother and Daughter photo is always lovely.... and pretty 'flat' to add to an album too!

Kaisercraft Products - P1902 Sheen | P1900 Razzle | CT834 Collectables | CD101 Coconut | ST910 Epoxy 'Sunshine' | SB794 Pearls 'Snow' | PL501 Pearl Strip 'White' | F627 paper Blooms 'Coconut' | ST924 Clear Stickers 'Baby'

"You're a Star" Layout

When I saw the background with the gold stars, I initially thought 'Christmas' (see, I really love Christmas!) but when I found this photo of our great nephew and his medal.... it quickly turned into a more boyish layout with the focus on the achievement!

gold lo

Kaisercraft Products - P1903 Flashy | P1905 Extravagant | CT834 Collectables | KM103 Yellow mist | T616 Stars | CD102 Licorice | ST928 Clear Stickers 'Life' |

"Love" journal page

My journal is filled with pages of colour, patterns and mostly, one word or a short verse... must have been feeling the 'LOVE' the day this was created?

gold journal

Kaisercraft Products - EM422 Kraft Journal | P1905 Extravagant | PS422 Confetti | KM103 Yellow Mist | KM101 Charcoal | T613 Quarters |  ST916 Clear Stickers 'Delicate Words' |
Other - Crackle Paste

TIME MACHINE
has the most beautiful combination of browns and teals!!

I created a Feminine Layout and a Masculine Layout using the SAME basic sketch, to show you how versatile this collection really can be..
"Love, this special moment" Layout (hopefully you know this is the Feminine version)
By choosing the pretty teals and beautiful damask patterns as the base and adding some clocks and cogs in the teal colours to embellish... you could easily add some flowers into the clustering to make it even more girly.

Kaisercraft Products -  P1925 Gears | P1923 Hourglass | P1917 Clocks | SS292 Sticker Sheet | CT836 Collectables | FL496 Wood Flourish 'Love' | KM105 Turquoise mist |

and the masculine version

"Rumble" layout (and you can see that this is the Masculine version!)
Same basic sketch but using the creams and browns, and the brown & black cogs to embellish (You could even add some metal cogs to the mix for a bit of authenticity!)

tm lo

Kaisercraft Products - P1920 Scripture | P1918 Steam Engine | SS292 Sticker sheet | CT836 Collectables | FL461 Wood Flourish 'Joy' | IP724 Bark Ink |

There needed to be a Male and Female Card also...
"Cards"

You can never have too many cards - if you love making them and find you have created a stash, then bundle a bunch with pretty ribbon and give them as a gift to someone who doesn't have time to make some... or there is often an Aged Home or other community organization that loves donations they can sell... or simply use more - send a card to say "Hello" or just to let someone know you are thinking of them.. it really is lovely to find a card in your letterbox!!

time cards

and I really LOVE cards... so made a couple more...
The 'spiral flowers' (Left hand side) are made by cutting a 'snail' into one of the Cogs from the Collectables and secure with a spot of hot glue - Kaisercraft sells a die to make it even easier!

TM cards

and, one more... just with the black and creams for a bit of style!

TM HB Card

Just enough of the working week remaining to pick up some of the new August collections and create this weekend!! My suggestion is to get a start on Christmas?

Thanks for visiting today and always enjoy your creative time,

Lowood & surrounds Crafty Angels - Facebook group

It was my friend Jacqui's turn to choose the theme for the July challenge in the Facebook group "Lowood & surrounds Crafty Angels" - a breakaway group of "Scrap with Us"

Jacqui's theme for the challenge was to use
Chipboard
Blue
the word 'Fun'
Washi Tape
and a Sticker 'Sun'

...so,
the background is created with chipboard scraps, and is blue! I used the word 'fun' as part of the title, 'sun' is a sticker, my 'sewing' is along the edge of the chipboard with paper string and the washi tape is part of the framing for the photo! Think I ticked everything on the list.. what a challenge!!

Another page for our niece Christine...I am fast running out of photos of her kids!!

Scrap With US - Facebook group - August Challenge

Sharon Andrews has a lovely group on Facebook "Scrap with Us" and has created her first Mood Board for the August Challenge -

These beautiful images...

I loved the rustic truck and when I searched for some papers, I found a cute truck filled with roses (bonus!) - on some Prima 'Divine' collection, same as the background sheet!
The title is from Scrap FX - Spread your wings and fly... comes with the large butterfly too!
The swirl chipboard is a Memory maze piece - comes with heaps in a variety of sizes!

There is even a pocket which the journalling can be included...written by her Mum Christine!
I have also used the sweetest charming word from My2angels - here is a direct link to purchase for your own layouts - Handmade embellishments
I also included Pink Ric Rac - but there is heaps of colours to choose from!!  AND it's only 75cents per metre!!
Tracy also has heaps of Kaisercard, this colour is Pink and only 50cents per sheet!

Photo is Sienna, our great niece at the park having a swing -
see the happiness on her face... so sweet!!
