Kaisercraft - Tutorial Tuesday

Terrific Tuesday with Alison Bevis

I’m doing a little tutorial for you today and when I started thinking of what to show you, I thought it might be interesting to create a layout with a minimum of ‘stuff’…
So, I’ve used just THREE sheets of patterned paper… and a wood flourish Title – That’s it!!
Oh and a trimmer, scissors, tape, foam and glue?
I looked at the beautiful images on this sheet
P2011 Recall
and knew there was enough to create some layers and to finish embellishing too!
A little bit of FUSSY CUTTING… it is one of my favourite things to do!
Then I needed a sheet that already had a bit of background interest, P2012 Timeless – as I set myself a challenge to just create with paper – if you choose to, this is a perfect chance to add some mixed media background techniques and some stamping too!!
I trimmed this sheet at 29cm x 29cm and distressed the edges roughly, and continued to scrunch – then layered it over another sheet, with a 90′ turn – one with a little bit of interest along the sides – P2008 Recollection
Now is the chance to utilise all the strips from the bottom of each sheet and I added some of the leftover squares and rectangles from the fussy cut sheet –
I checked there was room for my photo and continued to layer mostly horizontal but also some strips vertically –
and then I added the photo
…now it’s time to add all the fussy cut pieces to add some interest!!
Yes, I needed a title… I love the ‘Cherish and Love’ Wooden Flourishes – they just add something special to a project, don’t you think?

Hope you’ve enjoyed a step by step look at creating a layout with only 3 sheets of patterned paper…and a Title!!
Thank you for stopping by,

White with One - Grape

Last day of the month, so just squeezing this one in...

I started with a couple of sheets of cardstock - tore the purple and adhered the paper doiley on the right - The fabulous Janet Bott of The Resin Rainbow had this bag full of GRAPE resin pieces included this sheet of lattice with the inner shape too, so I used this as a layer and added some at the side of the photo and another cluster to the top left to balance the page  - there is also a bunch of buttons, leaves, flowers and even a cute paperclip to choose from ... how good is that!!
Finished embellishing with a bunch of Manor House Creations flowers, some beaded twigs and some lace from Bella Paperie - the title is a Family Charming word from Tracy's My2Angels website - so easy to order!!

This is the gorgeous Natalie.... who will become a big sister in the New Year!!

Kaisercraft - MY DAY - Friday's are Fantastic..

I wont mention the date if you don't....
But I will mention how Fantastic these TWO collections released this month are!!
With the Red, White and Navy of
All of the Nautical imagery of ships, fancy knots and Anchors... it was perfect to create a layout for this photo from a few years ago - from fussy cutting the ship, to the rope paper which matched the seats to 'recycling' the red heart... makes me smile!
"Dreamworld" Layout by Alison Bevis

Kaisercraft Products - P1986 Starfish | P1983 Nautical | CT844 Collectables | SS300 Sticker Sheet |
Did you see that big red heart - keep scrolling and you will see where I've recycled it from..
I always like a little challenge, so when I saw all the RED nautical images in the collectables I figured I could layer them into a triangular shape to represent a Christmas Tree - I have someone in mind for this card!

The Red Heart was cut from the paper after adhering to the front of the heart... bit of a bonus, I thought! So, I chose this photo from a Family Wedding to incorporate into the heart... hope the happy couple will like this one?

And then the delicate beauty of
By covering each plank in a different pattern, and choosing all the 'blues' it has made this Wall Art neutral but girly... a great gift!! I even used the Embossing folder and stamped with it into the modelling paste (be sure to wash any paste out from the grooves before it dries!!)

Other - Derivan Modelling paste.
I really liked the navy blue accents of this collection, and although there is quite a few feminine papers, I thought by choosing the darker prints I would have a good base of a card for a man. I think the touch of torn cork sheet adds to the masculinity.

Green is one of my most favourite colours, so it was easy to pick them all out and match them with the whites for this photo of my Grandparents.

Scrapping Outback - October challenge

What will you bring this month,
Well, a fabulous image for inspiration over at

this -

and WHITE cardstock...

...this is what I created especially for the challenge this month!!

Can you believe that I started with a sheet of LEMONCRAFT "Neverending Summer' range - the Lazy Evening sheet and I stamped with the Stampers Anonymous 'branch' around the edges in black (purchased from Scrapify - super cool store in Gympie)
I had a leftover chipboard frame from Dusty Attic which I covered in Gesso and sprayed with a rainbow of sprays from Prima, Kaisercraft, Lindy's Stamp gang etc and then adhered assorted bits and pieces in the rainbow colours around the frame.

Photo is our niece Christine with her gorgeous girl Shakaela... how fabulous is her shirt - perfect!!

The Scrapbook Store - October challenge

My beautiful friend Cathy shared the link on her FB the other day so...
here is my entry for the
October challenge
with this sketch

TSS Sketch - October 2015

Such a pretty design
this is my entry...

I started with a sheet of Marion Smith Designs "Garment District" - 'He Said' and ' Picture Perfect' - the second has the images I have fussy cut!
When I saw the circle in the sketch I knew I had this delicate Scrapmatt's design "Layered Frame" so I set about giving it a little colour! It comes as two pieces (you could even use each separately!) - the base was heat embossed with Tinby Metallic Melkts (pink and gold) and the top a shabby layer of gesso... which I painted onto the base paper! This was then sprinkled with Stampendous Sprinkles and heated till set!
To finish embellishing there is a Manor House Creations flower, Prima (Something Blue range) My2Angels Gardenias, 5 point star flower stems & variegated leaves, A couple of leftover Miss Rose & Sister Violet blooms, and some filler bits from my little box!!

Photo is of our 4 Bridesmaids... love them all xx

Kraft plus - October challenge

I missed the Triangular challenge last month but this month I couldn't say no!!

"Inspired by Nature"

Okay, I've been a little tricky with my 'feather' and 'other natural item'...
The skeleton leaf reminds me of a Feather, and it is originally a real leaf!

I purchased a packet of these Kraft 12x12 die cut pages, this one adhered onto Black - the bottom half has been sprayed with various shades of green inc Kaisercraft 'Lime', Lindy's Stamp Gang, Heidi Swapp and Colour Bloom too! Before it had a chance to dry (I know, patience is a virtue!) I smeared some Gel Medium and sprinkled the sequins.
The cute photo of our son Tim (Preschool pic,) has been mounted on a piece of Maja Designs (difficult to see but it has leaves all over it) - can you see the 3 jewelled beetles, they were snipped off a necklace... bought especially to do that!! Title is a raw Kaisercraft wood flourish - there is a little florists wire and Prima wire which are bent to look a little grassy?

Tim loved insects from a young age and would spend hours in the yard searching for them - I remember one day finding a 2l ice cream container and the entire base was filled with the most amazing coloured jewel beetles!!

Just for FUN... with Natalie

Just for FUN...

not DT creations...

not a Challenge...

...just a fun page for my great niece, Natalie!

I had this much Maja Designs paper left over from a challenge (If you know me, I do NOT keep any scraps... box them and donate them monthly!) but this one has such a delicate texture so, I added the Red Cardstock to make it 12x12" - put some Shimmerz 'Texturez' in "Marooned over Miami" over a Prima Lace Stencil and the excess 'here and there' - the shimmer is so pretty!
There is also Cocoa Vanilla Studios ;Sticker sheet' elements... the Chevron strip, the banner pieces, the stars, camera, #1 square & arrows too - it's a BOY range... but versatile!!
I found the scrolled wood in my Kaisercraft stash.... the My2angels 'glass Lady Bug' pin.... and the handmade 'Heart' embellishment from Charms Creations (it's even spotty like a lady beetle!) - some small spots of black Kindyglitz in a circle make an easy flower!

I met two of my Nieces last week for a coffee... and to pick up some photos too!!
This sweet photo of our great niece was taken on her Birthday - Frozen theme!
She is super cute!!

White with one - October - Peach Puff

October's colour is

Such a delicate shade of apricot...

I started with white cardstock and sprayed Heidi Swapp's 'Coral' vertically onto a Donna Downey stencil - layered some scraps of Blue Fern studios 'Ombre Dreams' around the frame.

The Resin Rainbow sent a selection of 'Peach Puff' Resin pieces - Janet can send you a mystery colour (whatever WW1 is having that month) for only $5 includes postage... baragin!! ...and so easy to have embellishments in the perfect colour!!
This link will take you to the Facebook page where you can contact Janet for more info -

Little bit of Builders mesh, a paper doily or two, some beautiful Imaginarium Designs chipboard!
I've then added a few flowers,
AND, this is the layout for the challenge this month

Photo is our beautiful Niece Christine with her daughter Sienna.... was taken months ago but is the perfect shade of PEACH PUFF!!

Kaisercraft - Ma Cherie Cards - Thursday 15th October

Today on the Kaisercraft blog, we are sharing
created with the
Ma Cherie Collection
and matching
Butterfly Die set

...I love to make cards....

'Smile' card

Triple layer cards are always fun to stamp! Two layer or 'off centre' layers also look great - just need to cut the matting correctly. This matting is 0.5 cm but smaller is delicate and still effective! I've stamped on the Patterned Paper but it looks lovely to stamp on white and use Patterned paper as the matting - experiment?

Simple use of the negative die cut, and include the die cut - just use double sided paper! This style also looks nice with a Flower die too!
