Colour Blast - challenge - Cool Pup

 Hello again!!

Yes, so soon since my last blog entry
I did create another layout for the
NEW

Colour Blast Challenge

It's all about the COOL colours
and use at least 3 CB products..

easy, right!!

I did a bit of shuffling with the papers from the
Untangled collection,
designed by Tanya Froud
Great collection!!

I like how there is a sheet in the collection to fussy cut.. so I did!

Picked out some greens, blues and purples toned Colour Paste

I used the paste as a 'paint' to colour the flowers and leaves - I just used a water brush!

You'll also see some stamping around the border and under the foliage too!

1. Patterned Paper
2. Stamps
3. Colour Paste

and Cool colours
for Emily's COOL PUP

Big stitching with a crop-a-dile to add holes for the twine to be threaded around... bit of fun for a border and didn't take too long to do either!

Thank you for coming to visit,
Alison
xx

White with one - Citrus Combo - October 2019

Wow!!

It's been a long time without a blog post..
If you're still out there,

Hello!!

Sooo much work
AND
not enough time for the important stuff..

Like a challenge
so I picked out some papers,
chose some Citrus coloured Colour Blast pastes,
and,
then,
this!!

You Are Loved

Image may contain: one or more people

Started with a marshmallow bazill,
swiped over 'Sunshine' and 'Tangareen Dream Colour Blast paste,
trimmed some CB papers for the strips,
Cut the letters for the title - already used all the 'O' so this is actually the letter 'Q' - do you get a bit creative when you run out of the letter you need/

Twine to wind around in vertical lines,
Photo of Adrian's grandad xx
Wire to frame the face,
found a bonus metal arrow to underline,
Done!!

Thank you for visiting,
A xx

White with One - Marine Green - July 2019

Hello!!

It's been too long since I had some SPARE time to create...
Usually takes me about an hour to create a challenge page... but I fiddle for a couple of hours at The Crafty Chain's all day crop yesterday... must be a bit rusty!!

Anyway, I found out what the colour was this month at White with One

MARINE GREEN

No photo description available.

A lovely deep teal-ly green shade

and there is a Mood board too!!

No photo description available.

I liked the sole palm tree im the bottom right corner,
it reminded me of a photo of Adrian and his Grandad,
enjoying the sun in the garden..

I first chose a sheet of Kaisercraft paper from the recent Morning Dew collection, that had a lovely print in the exact shade... perfect!! By cutting out the middle you create a border for white cardstock and then a piece to use both sides as part of the layers - good budgetting!!

Starting with a sheet of white I swiped some ink across the background - swiped some crackle onto a set of 7 dots chipboard (old!!) - added some paper behind the frames and some photos too - then just layered it... done!!

I love how Kaisercraft have titles or sentiments along the barcode strip.. always come in handy!!
Finnabairs Patina Butterflies were a lovely tone for Marine Green,

You don't need a ton of products to create a layout, this layout has one sheet of patterned paper, one sheet of cardstock, one 6' square of chipboard pieces, 2 metal butterflies, 2 white tags, a scoop of crackle paste, a swipe on ink on the background and the chipboard pieces and some adhesive to attach everything - easy!!

Plenty of room for a bit of journalling about the memory from these photos..

Alison xx

Sketchy Boards challenge - January 2019

Hello!!
...and Hello to January!!

Trying to get some challenges done in January,
on a roll with a couple completed -
Thought I'd give
a go this month, it's been awhile?

Don't Forget to be Awesome
is my layout for the January challenge,

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling

Started with a sheet of Kaisercraft white - tore a piece of light grey into a rectangle... you can still see a small top right corner!! lol Sprinkled a little 'mystery powder' (looks like it might have been some Lindy's Magicals from an old class kit?)  - how good was the colour for these pretty images I had previously fussy cut from a sheet of Celebr8 'Beautiful Life'... love the greens, browns with a pinch of yellow!!
Layered the pieces... kind of like the sketch... stamped a little with a stamp on the table and finished with a couple of wooden cogs, tags etc

I twisted the sketch 90' to the left, like this -

No photo description available.

Photo is our great nephew Robbie - I thought the cogs and clocks were perfect for a school photo!!
Thank you to Jenny, for introducing us to the versatility of Celebr8 papers!!

Thankyou for visiting,
love,
Alison xx

Kraft Plus challenge - January 2019

Kraft Plus challeneg - January 2019

No photo description available.

You are my Sunshine

Image may contain: 1 person, indoor

Starting with a sheet of Kraft... of course!!
Chose a Kaisercraft hexagon stencil - I like it for the random design - sponged a few different greens and browns... then spotted over some white dots to represent the Indigenous Art component of this months challenge :)

Our friend Jenny is the distributor for Celebr8 Australia - when she came to visit The Crafty Chain we loved the 'Beautiful Life' collection... I created this layout and another layout from the cut apart page and the diecut sheet - super easy!!
Thank you Jenny, you're so lovely!!

A little muslin, a couple of wood flourish pieces and some wired twine from the Happy Jig finish this layout of our sweet little girl Katelyn a few years (about 18 to be more precise!!) in a handmade outfit - I've always loved handmade items, whether I've made it or to support someone else's creativity. This one gifted to Katelyn by my Aunt & Uncle..

Thank you for visiting,
Love,
Alison xx

Never Stop Dreaming... Kraft PLus challenge - November 2018

Hello!!

Gosh, who knew having a craft store would mean sooo very little time to actually CRAFT ?

Anyway, I had a holiday at the shop this afternoon and created a layout for the Kraft Plus challenge - Mosaic

The image looks like this,

No automatic alt text available.

I like how all those little tiles square up into a beautiful pattern.
I chose a school photo of one of our great nephews - yes, nearly the end of the school year... and then it will be time for new school photos!!

Our youngest child has know finished school, and while I have a FEW years to catch up on for school photos, it's always nice to scrap someone a photo as a gift to them - preserve memories!!

Kraft cardstock plus -
Stamp Darkroom Door - over the background, across a couple of edges, and so it disappears into the background - yes, it has an image of a couple of older gentleman... this young bloke will grow up one day - along with a bunch of masculine imagery that makes up a 'mosaic' background?
Sofie and Andrew at Scrapmatt's create fabulous designs and this 'Mosaic' design seemed a great fit across the stamping with a little embossing paste.
Stapled some twine vertical on the left,
tucked a tag under the photo on the right to add some journalling,
randomly added paste and crackle to the chipboard swirl,
adhered a title from Little Birdie
a felt circle, a key, a metal corner to the tag and finish with a Kaisercraft Mosaic wood piece!!

The stamping is not perfect,
the grid is not straight,
I put it together still wet
but,
I think it's a fun layout!!

Alison xx

White with one challenge - August 2018 - Sunny Yellow

Hello!!

It's been awhile since I've had some 'spare' time to do some challenges...
so,
I made some spare time!!

We had a spare page at the shop,
and I found some spare Imaginarium Designs chipboard,
I gathered some spare bits and pieces,
and added some spare Sunny Yellow (well, really a mixture of Seeded Mustard Oxide & Distress)

Celebrate Today

I've had this cute photo of our great nephews and niece for some time in my stash, and I liked the contrast of the yellow with the blues in the photo so I am pleased I found some spare time to scrapbook this memory for our Niece's family album!!

Thank you for visiting,
Alison xx

ps, all products available at my favourite store, The Crafty Chain

Sketchy Boards challenge - May 2018

Hello,
and YES!!
It's been awhile since I had a chance to create for a challenge...

so, when Heidi asked us if
The Crafty Chain
could sponsor the
Sketchy Boards challenge
for May, we said Yes!!

There is a great mood board for the Yellow lovers!!

Image may contain: flower, plant and text

You can create a layout, Card or if you prefer something Beyond the Page?
You can use Yellow
or try the sketch?

I don't have a lot of 'spare' time these days so I told Shelley I was going to sit down for about an hour, and this is the result...

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, flower

I found this background patterned paper in out 50cent range - so don't underestimate your stash!!
Gave the yellow cardstock a wide border so you can see the chrysanthemums - the strips cut off from the cardstock were torn and adhere to create a bit of  interest?
We had this beautiful piece of Scrapmatts chipboard, the oval with flourishes and bonus butterflies (Still have 2 large butterflies for another day!!) I have just randomly inked it with a couple of yellow shades - the same colours were used to stamp the background with a Dare 2 B Artzy set that Paige recently used in her card class - it's really a lovely set!!
I found a large lace bloom and some smaller yellow shades and did a bit of floristry - easy!!

Photo is our cute niece Sienna - she is the youngest in her family, so is totally spoilt with love!!

So grab some YELLOW and have a go,
we'd love to see your entry,
Alison xx
