I heart KAISERCRAFT
...so you can imagine my GRIN when I received an email saying I'd made it to the second round and to expect a package to create with - new collections not yet released...even to the current DT - Hooray!!
The postman did not break any land speed records delivering to my letterbox!!
AND then 'it' arrived - woohoo
The first papers I saw were from "Time Machine"
A range with lovely shades of teal, brown and a bit of a steampunk edge!
I cut a couple of large circles into 2 pieces of paper and off centred them then cut banners from any patterns with teal - using P1922 'Coggler', P1919 'Mechanism', P1918 'Steam Engine', P1920 'Scriptorian', P1924 'Gadget' - I spritzed the Wooden Cogs (FL399) with Kaisermist 'Turquoise' (KM105) then sprinkled a little Kaisermist 'Charcoal' (KM101) and when it had dried, randomly wiped a little glossy accents.
I like the way that using lace as a 'flower' by threading a wire cut from mini paper blooms and twisting into a circle - always looks delicate and adds a bit of 'pretty'. I used EM928 'Natural'.
Along with some strips of 'Timeless ribbon in brown' (EM998) An 'Ice Green' pearl brad for the cog centres (EM934), added some 'Pewter' pearls (SB791) ..and finished with a couple of 'Olive' Mini paper blooms (F650)
TIME 'staring' our youngest daughter, Katelyn
I had this circle as 'scrap' but couldn't just put it in the scrap box!
So I trimmed a bunch of 1" strips, which I sprayed with a little water, scrunched and dried - then adhered around the edge. The black patterns were quite elegant so I adhered some strips, overlapping in the corner.
P1924 'Gadget', P1923 'Hourglass', P1919 'Mechanism', P1922 'Coggler', P1917 'Clocks'.
It's always fun to pull the centre bud out of the Kaisercraft blooms (F666 'Black') and replace with a Pearl Brad (EM934 'Ice Green') - clustered the blooms with some die cut 'Foliage' (DD506) and squeezed in a few Mini Paper Blooms (F661 'Black') and then sprinkled some Black pearls (SB793) to finish!
Perfect Moment - our friends were married in Bali a few years ago and I'm down to the last few photos for the album!!
Always like to create some cards (with the leftover scraps!) I had a little of the scrunched strips left, so adhered them to a piece of cardstock - then Die cut a Heart (DD528) running the 2 together to make a border - this also left a full heart which I used on the envelope to tuck the flap under! The envelope is, of course, lined with paper too! I also assembled the paper bow from a long strip!
I like to use both square (CD503 Black) and C6 (CD511 White) card sizes
The second range of papers 'Home for Christmas' is perfect for me - I love Christmas!
I didn't just want to create a 'Christmas' layout - Kaisercraft collections are always so versatile!!
I began by smearing Gel medium over the Stars (T616) - dry - Then spritzed with Kaisermist 'Antique Gold' (KM102) - dry - sprayed 'Yellow' (KM103) over the top. Sponged white ink through the Stars template also!
Tore a couple of 'hills', fussy cut a forest of trees and assembled- and a sky full of stars and randomly placed Epoxy Stickers in Sea Breeze, Sunshine and Natural (ST908, ST910 &ST909) - mounted the photo of me (CD605 Dark Brown) - adhered the title DREAM (ST916 Delicate Words)
DREAM, Dream, dream..
I did need to create a CHRISTMAS layout too!
The photos are of ME on my first Christmas!
Believe in the miracle of Christmas (I still do!!)
When I saw the paper with the Banner I picked up scissors and started cutting - then cut a few more twigs of holly!! I again used the Nesting Hearts (DD528) behind the photos - and cut a smaller heart from the top of one to mount on foam! Tore a strip of 'Forest' (CD114) for the 'Fancy Deer (FL463) to stand on - he was sprayed in 'Charcoal' (KM101)
And, of course, some CARDS - Simple often works best for Christmas...especially if you need to make heaps!! The poinsettia has 3 layers, each with a little shaping...& a dot of foam!
Thank you for coming over to my blog - it's always nice to have visitors!!
Not sure when the announcement will be, but I'll sing a little more Doris Day "Que Sera" in the meantime...
