Kaisercraft - Oh so Lovely

Oh so Lovely...is just Oh so Lovely
Seriously!

So lovely the Pinks!
So lovely the Florals!
So lovely the bit of rustic!

'My Nana' Layout by Alison Bevis
This Photo of my Nana was captured a few years ago, it was on the wall up our stairs in a little frame! She is one of the most favourite people in my life!! She has been known to refer to herself as 'The Queen' so the crown images are perfect!

'3' layout by Alison Bevis
This range is quite feminine, so I used the neutrals and green to create a grungy kind of layout - I used the oval frame wood flourish with the new Mist to 'stamp' with - so easy! I also mist the template and used the residual ink as a stamp - cannot waste a drop! The kids had a little photoshoot around the time of Katelyn's 1st Birthday...they're still cute, just bigger kind of cute!!

'December' Calendar page by  Alison Bevis
I know some will laugh, and some will cringe at the thought of fussy cutting an entire 12x12 page, but I find it relaxing!! To shape the tree, I started with a basic triangle  and started adhering the cut pieces from the bottom (the larger bits) and worked the patterns up to the top, finishing with the only postmark circle on the page! The background is simply the Specialty paper spritzed with the New Kaisercraft 'Antique Gold' mist, then wiped off the excess on the gloss design - then a sprinkle of 'Red' and 'Lime green' - looks like a Christmas tree, which was perfect for the December page! The Calendar is now complete, and will make a lovely gift for someone!!

'A Daughter' Journal page by Alison Bevis
I began by using the scraps leftover from the Sticker sheet and adhered them and some PP strip horizontally - then lightly gessoed, before sprtizing with the 'Leaves' template. then added a few Collectables, Sticker sheet 'leaves', flowers and the sentiment too!

Cards by Alison Bevis
Another Christmas card I hear you say...yes, I figure if I make one each month it will be easier to have them on hand to send at Christmas time...it's sneaking up quickly!! It shows how versatile each collection really is, to be able to use the 'pieces' and make a Christmas card - the wreath is made by snipping a strip of leaves from the Sticker sheet, adhering 'around' a punched circle, with a little foam tape...then adding a few red rhinestones - the word 'Happy' can be found as part of a longer sentiment, then use the alphas stickers for 'Christmas', Of course, finish by lining the envelopes with papers from the Paper pad or the leftovers from creating - that way they match!!

'Love is Sweet' Wall Art by Alison Bevis
How sweet are the hexagon shapes in this Wall Art? The paper is simply adhered onto the front, and then the shapes were removed carefully to use again (the original idea was to use them on a card) - the hexagons were then filled with other printed papers - the pearls, Collectables and Title came together easily - this will be a cute gift for...someone!

Kraft Plus - April Challenge

Kraft plus has a recipe for April...and I love a good recipe -

Along with these colours - the recipe includes,
A dash of Washi tape
One cup of Polka dots
A twist of cotton
3 tags
A sprinkling of silver
One teaspoon of stamping

...off to the kitchen, oops Craft room I went....searched for the colours first and
created this layout...

Starting with a sheet of Kaisercraft P1594 Pinstripe (reverse) from the Mix & Match collection (Kraft, White, Black and Red...what a combination!) I used Impasto to adhere and as a resist the 'rubbish backing' from the Joint Tape used in another layout - it was a Kraft colour so I couldn't just bin it, could I? After it was dry, I adhered a kraft colour doiley from Joybell's and then tore strips from the Kaisercraft printed tape and lay them over this doiley. The Hessian was pre-printed with Polka Dots and I just trimmed it into a banner and adhered. I punched out the photos of Aunty Sandra and I - few years ago! I lay the tags over the page and spritzed with the New Kaisermists in Denim and Red, allowing the overspray to colour the page - I also rubbed the excess around the border to pick up the resist! A little stamping with the Kaisercraft 'Cherish' around the edges of the cluster. I also used the page as a messy mat when using the versamark on the "You & Me" chip board title - so I added some random sprinklings of Stampendous 'Chunky White' around and over the Basic Grey 'Spice Markets' metal embellishments (perfect colours for this challenge!!) One of the Washi tapes (Orange Chevron) had lost it's 'stick'...not too worry, tear a piece and tie in a bow for the top of two of the tags - the other tag is from The Scrap Cottage 'coloured Muslin' price tag (how cute is that!)

Just checking the recipe -
A dash of Washi tape - under the photos and as a bow!
One cup of Polka dots - printed hessian!
A twist of cotton - on the top tag and also a black tassel!
3 tags - two with photos & the third with the title!
A sprinkling of silver - sprinkling of silver sequins and a key die cut from a can (Thank you Natalie Griffin)
One teaspoon of stamping - Cherish from Kaisercraft!

How good is the KRAFT PLUS challenge group - so many entries each month, such a clever DT and something a little different each month to use with Kraft...

Scrapping Outback - April challenge

Did you see the inspiration picture at Scrapping Outback this month?

Always colours just a little bit different...I think that's why I enjoy this challenge - to find exactly THAT colour is challenge enough itself...
So I found some 'stuff', and this is what I created -

I started with a WHITE sheet of paper that had been pre-embossed with the diamond pattern....and then adhered 'Joint tape' (purchased from Joybell's) in vertical stripes...I swiped a little Viva 3D Stamp Paint in 'Rose Metallic' and it was so dark!! So, I used a 'baby wipe' to spread the excess, which left a lovely glittery effect! When I saw the Donna Downey 'Poppy Collage' stencil with it's dots, flower and alphas it was a perfect combination so I inked it with Adirondack 'Wild Plum' and inked around the edges of the page too!
The title 'Special Memories' is a beautiful piece from Imaginarium Designs which was heat embossed (along with the little bird from the cage chipboard) with Stampin' Up! White powder. The Bird cage was liberally coated with glossy accents and My2angels 'Sugar Beads' (always a lovely combination of seed, bugle and micro beads in various colour ranges - this one is Pinkish purpley!) - Dry!
A Prima 'Cloissone bronze', Kaisercraft mini paper blooms in 'Fuchsia', along with some random blooms spritzed in Dylusions 'Funky Fuchsia' were added in clusters, along with the now dry, birdcage!
When I went back and looked again at the layout, it still needed a little 'something' so, I used the Tim Holtz dauber 'Seedless Preserve' around the edges, and when it was dry, flicked droplets of water - love this! I also swiped stripes as a mini border, dry - and then added some random washi Tape to soften the dark colour..happy!

This is another photo of our Niece Larissa which was in a mini frame on the wall up our stairs...destined for her album!

White with One - April challenge "Sand"

Back again with the White with One challenge...
and this month the colour is -

SAND

[ww1%2520sand%255B5%255D.jpg]

....and this is what I created...

I started with a sheet of Kaisercraft P1594 Pinstripe from the Mix & Match collection - and swiped Prima Art Basics 'Heavy Gesso' from the centre to the outside...dry! Then spritzed Lindy's Stamp Gang 'Buccaneer Bronze' through a Prima Elementals ' Basket' Stencil....dry! It was a little darker than "SAND" so I sponged Tim Holtz Distress stain 'Pumice Stone' randomly and also splatted it here and there! One of the tags is recycled clothing label and the other (& the embossed cardstock) was in a the Goody bag from Donna Downey's class at Joybell's - fabulous! The 'So cool' Scrapmatts Chipboard arrow was inked with 'Jumbo Java' and the title finished with Thickers "Nutmeg" - the embellishing was completed with a hessian page marker!

This is our Niece's eldest boy Robert - Christine sent me the photo of him with his hair done in a mohawk style... he is a little dude with attitude!

Blue Fern Studios - April Challenge

I'm a big fan of the Blue Fern Studios chipboard and papers...

and look forward to the challenge -
the challenge for April is,

See!! Such a fabulous sketch to use with fabulous chipboard and papers!!
So what did I create?

THIS...

I chose a Blue Fern Studios 'Ombre Dreams - Shannon's Dream' sheet of paper - it is seriously beautiful as it is, so you don't need to do too much to it!
I decided to snip apart the Blue Fern Studios 'Industrial Corner' and then heat embossed it randomly with Lindy's Stamp gang 'Under the Boardwalk' (Raspberry Lemonade, Orange Creamsicle, Poprock Purple and Merry-go-round Green) and used the leftover powders to sprinkle under the vertical strip - looks so pretty!
A little spritzing, here and there with Prima Colour Bloom 'Cotton Candy' and Heidi Swapp 'Coral' Colour shine and I used a 'wipe' to remove the excess so it was soft and delicate.
Of course it needs a little floristry and I love Prima and Manor House Creations flowers - I've used a couple from the 'Something Blue - at the Altar' & 'Velvet Rainbow(pastel)' and assorted MHC ones.
The title chipboard "LOVE" from Blue Fern Studios, the 'Good Vibes' packet -  I dabbed my finger with a little Mont Marte 'Dimension' in Zinc White and while my finger was still wet, I dabbed a little on the flowers, leaves and springs too! I finished the title with some Thickers 'Nutmeg'.

This photo hung in a frame up the stairs of our home till recently...and now will be added into Larissa's album!!

Charms Creations "Super Star" challenge

After I created the BOY layout with the 'Super Star' I decided I should do a GIRL one too...
So here is the PINK "Super Star" for the Charms Creations Challenge -

I started with a Bo Bunny, Double Dot Designs 'Passion Fruit Journal' page and trimmed to 30x30cm. I randomly placed joint tape on the left hand side and Gesso'ed (Prima Heavy, from the Art Basics) the Donna Downey 'Signature strencil' on the right hand side....spritzed a little Prima Colour Bloom 'Cotton Candy' and a smear of Glitter paste. The Twiddleybitz 'Fern leaf large' was rubbed with Inka Gold "Rose Quartz' - before adhering the little resin frame around the photo and clustering a CHARMS CREATION pink 'Super Star', a My2angels mulberry flower and some Manor House Creations Flowers, a Miss Rose & Sister Violet velvet flower and a smattering of Prima 'Hello Pastel' Say it in Crystals here and there - done!!

This gorgeous girl is our Niece, Larissa - she was just a few months old in this photo and turned 7 last week - about time I created some more pages for her album, I know!

Charms Creations "Super Star" challenge

Charms Creations embellishments are handmade!
They are also super cute...
There is a facebook page and group to follow - the group has a challenge which is due April 15th,
...you still have time to enter!!

so I thought I'd create a layout using a 'super star' and although I have not used the quote, the sentiment is true for this photo!

I asked Charmane to send me an assortment of colours...I love orange! So, of course it is the one I used first - I started with a piece of Kaisercraft cardstock (CD153 denim) and smeared a dollop of modelling paste then squiggled through it, and let it dry. I spritzed some Prima Colour Bloom in 'Cobalt' and 'Summer sky' along with Memories Mist in 'Blue Hawaiian' - through the Kaisercraft Quarters template (bit hard to see in the photo) and finished with a bit of Chalkboard 'Banana Pudding' - snipping up some My2angels black star felt and adding a bit here and there before adhering the star as a frame. I always like to heat emboss (anything!) but chipboard always looks great... the Scrapmatts 'string circles' were randomly sprinkled white utee and then inked with Tim Holtz 'Salty Ocean'. The Blue Fern Studios 'Adorable' uses Stampin' Up! 'Tangerine tango' - 'Just Saying' uses Stampendous 'Marine' and the frame I cut in half and used under each word has Lindy's Stamp Gang 'Desert Moon' - to finish the embellishments, a denim star, button and a couple of beads - was still missing a border, so I doodled one with a white Pitt pen - FUN!!

Kaisercraft Design Team 2015 Entry

It has been an AMAZING year on the Kaisercraft Contributing Design Team 2014/15...it is seriously THE best fun for anyone who LOVES Kaisercraft - that is ME!!
I find that the deadlines to create projects for the blog, the Workshop magazine and for CHA 2015 made me think outside the square, and to show how versatile each and every collection can be...
...but now the call has gone out for some new ladies to join the team and also for some of us who'd like to continue our journey...

The requirements are to create "a Layout, a Beyond the Page/Altered Item and a Mixed Media item or Card."

So this is what I've created -

TYSON memorial frame
My Brother-in-law lost his pet dog last year and I've procrastinated about creating a frame for him - I just wanted to do their relationship justice and provide him with a lasting memory - I was going to use the photo with last months "Furry Friends" collection but then the 'call' came and I hoped it would be a simple but respectful frame to hang in his home (he hasn't seen it yet, so fingers crossed he likes it?) I was able to include Tyson's collar and tags and my favourite photo printed in black & white as well as one when he was a puppy.

Kaisercraft products - Large Frame, CB150 Uppercase alpha chipboard, CB153 Corrugated card, CB152 Cork sheet, FL305 Wood flourish 'Frames', SS277 Sticker sheet 'dog'.
Other - store bought photo frame simply covered with crackle paint.

"Remember this Moment, Forever" Layout

This photo of our two Daughters a couple of years ago is still one of my favourites!
It would of been easy to use any of the patterned papers to create a beautiful layout BUT I have only used a little black & white cardstock to die cut some doilies, the title and leaves!
Kaisercraft has the most fabulous designs of DIES being released that co-ordinate with the collections AND April has the release of TEN NEW MISTS...they are so shimmery and such lovely colours, that I thought I'd just use them...with some paper blooms and a little wood (as I think everything needs a little Wood Flourish!)

Kaisercraft products - CB154 Chipboard, T608 Honeycomb, KM110 Pink, KM109 Red, KM106 Orange, KM103 Yellow, KM104 Lime Green, KM105 Turquoise, KM106 Denim, CD102 Licorice, CD101 Coconut, FL406 Vines, DD504 DOlies, DD500 Script Words, F667 Mini blooms 'Coral', F648 'Sea Breeze, F650 'Green' F663 'Hot PInk' F627 'Coconut', CS890 Dictionary Meanings, CS154 Film Edges, FL474 Bees, EM926 Lace pack 'White', ST916 Delicate words, DD516 'Vines'.
Other - Derivan 'Gesso' to cover and seal the chipboard, Modelling paste with the Honeycomb template & edges and some Ink for stamping.

White and Gold Tag

Yes, I could have created a card - easy! But when I was going through my stash of Wood Flourishes, I came across the 'Door Frame' and thought it would be perfect as a big tag...which could then be added to a layout? Then I limited myself to just "White and Gold"... and this is what I created...

Kaisercraft products - FL528 Door frame, PS398 Polka dot Glitter, EM926 Lace pack 'white', KM102 Antique Gold, DD102 Mannequin, DD306 Keys & Locks, F627 Paper Blooms 'White', All that Glitters, FL434 Bows, DD522 Berry Vine.
Other - Gold embossing powder for the key and lock, and Gold Kindyglitz for all those dots!

I just want to wish everyone who has poured their hearts into creating some beautiful projects for a chance to be chosen on the Kaisercraft Design Team all the very best...and of course, we are adding pages to our albums for the generations to come, so we all win!!
