Dusty Attic - July Challenge

While I was browsing on the 1st of July, I came across this fabulous mood board over at -
The Dusty Attic

I wasn't sure if it was the colours or that lovely inspiration picture?
So I searched my chipboard stash...
and found the lovely 'Reeds #2' packet!
When I went to look for a photo, I found this one of me and my Grandfather at the beach, and thought it was the perfect shade in the colours (original photo!)
I also found a sheet of Kaisercraft 'Antique Bazzaar' that I had previously dribbled some leftover resin across - the resin almost looks like water?

Vintage Soul

The REEDS #2 were covered in Crackle paint 'Pine Needles', 'Aged Mahogany' and 'another which I can't recall' (lol) and left to dry naturally!
I bought a packet of 'netting' from Neha over at  Auzz Trinklets and chopped off a section to adhere across the centre section - it is actually old fishing net, how cool is that!
The 'Mini Words #3' were heat embossed with Adirondack 'Stream' and Ranger 'Verdigris' - and some pinches were also sprinkled over the glue I used to adhered the netting - bonus?
White lace was sprayed with Distress Spray 'Cracked Pistachio', 'Mermaid Lagoon' and Heidi Swapp 'Navy' - and twisted with wire to make clusters!
Finished embellishing with a "Charms Creation" 'Map marker' - handmade embellishments combining felt, canvas, book  print and other options - find her on Facebook!
The photos were matted with old Prima packaging - my favourite photo mats!
...and one of my favourite photos with my Grandfather,

Love Cherish Adore Layout

Love, Cherish, Adore layout for our niece Christine - Created at the my2angels 2015 Retreat - such a lovely weekend away with friends!!

I started with a sheet of white cardstock and mixed pink and purple Gelatos with Whipped Spackle and spread it across the page - messy fun!
The black scallop card was then adhered to the centre left of the page and the Kutalicious acrylic squares adhered above and below the photo. A couple of random chipboard flourishes were added and then the fun started...

There was heaps of my2angels handmade embellishments, flowers and other bits at the Retreat... so easy to match colours perfectly!
Included are Family purple and silver charming chain - which I snipped and used the parts individually - very versatile!
Pink Cherry blossoms - can always add a flower or two!
Bakers Twine Blossom - Light Pink& White - often twine is better than ribbon - easier to include in masculine or feminine projects and comes in a varieties of colours!
and there is also
a sparkly Butterfly - signifies new life... an new sister!
Rhinestones in pink and clear - love a bit of bling!
purple buttons - on special at Retreat..

....and a couple of Scrapmatts word tiles, random chipboard pen nibs and a Prima resin key.

Photo is our nieces daughters Shakaela, Tenisha and their new sister Sienna

Love you, Sienna layout - created at the 2015 My2angels Retreat

I didn't take much to the Retreat - just a 12x12 storage box with cardstock and a few bits and pieces!
I had some green coredinations tags left so I created another page -
the top one for the date and place, and the bottom one is left empty for her Mum to journal on!

I scribbled green Gelato in a vertical strip, sprayed with water and allowed to drip left - I did this twice and although it is difficult to see, there is a few colour variations.
I also had 3 Prima ATC cards that matched - these were adhered in a vertical strip, with the tags on top.
Then I went shopping at the My2angels Retreat
The Yellow Sead Beads were adhered with Glossy accents and allowed to 'drip' - then dried!
I pulled apart some magnolias which allowed me to add some of the remaining yellow seed beads as a centre and also added a Rhinestone  - easily changing the colour with an alcohol marker!
The flowers clusters also have a little Gypsophila - if you buy cream or white you can easily change the colour with sprays or reinkers!
The tags all have a double bow with Bakers Twine
the finishing touch is the Green Embossed Felt Heart - you get 4 for $1 - love them!

There is one small Prima flower and a little extra chipboard but almost everything comes from

The photo is of my great niece Sienna.... another page for her album!

Cheer up Buttercup layout - My2angels 2015 Retreat

Cheer up Buttercup layout
of our daughter, Emily
- Created at the 2015 My2angels Retreat

I am liking Kraft cardstock as a base more and more!
I scribbled cream, yellow, orange and red in long stripes on the left hand side, then sprayed with water and tipped the sheet so the drips kept moving!
The chipboard title was also graduated across with the same colours.
A yellow spotty packet is the base which everything is adhered around - a kraft photo mat, Prima atc card and some leftover white cardstock as a banner.

Again, it was so easy at the My2angels Retreat to colour match all of the embellishments... such an easy way to shop!
Starting from the yellow side I added some Yellow Star flowers
Tangerine 'Together' Filligree - these come in a variety of words and colour choices!

A little crochet doiley, a paper straw and a metal vellum circle finished this layout without too much stuff on the page - the resin rose is the bulkiest item!

Just need to journal the reason for the sad face...

Christmas in July - My2angels 2015 Retreat

Well it was a Christmas in July Retreat theme this year...so I created a Christmas layout!

Again started with a sheet of white cardstock, then scribbled various Green Gelatos and spritzed with water to 'blend' them together - I took the Gelatos as my source of colouring for the weekend - easy, fun and made me think of different ways to use them!
The two chipboard trees have each been scribbled across then spritzed with water to achieve a good covering. The red coredination tags were adhered in a little grid pattern as a base for the photos and embelishments.
One of my favourite My2angels products are the Red embossed Felt Stars - there is 4 in a packet for only $1 - bargain!
I also adhered the sparkly Red Glitter Ribbon along the base as strips and also used it for the tags bows and fancy knots - I used almost one metre, and its on special for 65c...perfect!
The Silver Rhinestone Star at the top and bottom were easy to apply, and there is still the smallest size left for a Christmas card!
The finishing touch is that Star charm on the top tag!

Photo is from  Christmas Day celebrations 2010 at Nanny Ju's place with Great Nana, my Brother Scott, Sister-in-law Susanne and all the children - lovely memories..

Kraft Plus - July - Mustard explosion

The Kraft Plus challenge for July,
yes, just in time!
Lucky I found some spare time at the
My2angels Retreat last weekend..

So, I used Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint - easy!

Started with a piece of Kaisercraft 'Kraft' and drizzled the Crackle Paint along the centre line and tipped the cardstock to allow the paint to drip...always fun!
The black lace borders come from the leftovers from when Aunty Sandra created Geli's card kit - Graphic 45 papers - I just used the black frames and strips.
To embellish there is a Prima flower and heart stick, a Charms Creations 'map marker' in yellow, a couple of pieces of doiley, some crystal sticks from Tj's Scrapping with Style, the metal frame has been waiting patiently in my stash for many, many years (it's Pink Paislee) there is a couple of coredinations tags, a Flair (Won as a prize from Funky Flair Studio), "Ride" is a few scrabble tiles (bought from Georgia Heald's sale)  and finish with a couple of Scrapmatts words!

Photo is our daughter Emily riding her tricycle many years ago..

Kaisercraft - Little One - Modern baby layouts - Thursday 16th July

It's so easy to create a baby layout with the new LITTLE ONE collection,
....with the prints of elephants, Hot Air Balloons and Owls!

When I saw we were to create a 'modern' layout, I was initially thinking a minimalistic style, with a few strategic items placed here and there, so I created this....

"Little Boy" layout by Alison Bevis

Kaisercraft products - P1884 Mia, P1886 Noah, P1887 Harry, P1882 Jack, CT832 Collectables, SS287 Sticker Sheet 'Boy', Ip701 Teal.

To cut a circle in your page, without fancy tools, just trace a plate? Then ink or even distress the edges if your cutting isn't 'perfect' - easy! You're then left with the outline which you can use for another layout - bonus!

A page for little Wayne's album...

Blue Fern Studios - July challange

It's JULY, and what does that mean?
It's time for some more chipboard and papers from Blue Fern Studios...
This is the sketch this month -

what did I do?
This,

I started with a sheet of "Garden Plaza" by Manuela Zimmerman in the Sanctuary collection - both sides are so beautiful, but I chose this side for the colour and print...and it already had a strong centre pattern!
I added some builders mesh, the strip from the bottom of the page, string and then sprayed a little Tattered Angels Glimmermist 'Turquoise Blue' and Prima 'Summer Sky' and allowed it to drip across and then tilted the page so there would be a couple of drips under where the photo would be adhered.
All the chipboard pieces - 'Smile' designed by Janene Meyerowitz, Seaside frame, Checker Bits and Circle links all designed by Michele Singh were heat embossed with Lindys Stamp Gang Embossing Powders in 'Desert Moon Turquoise', 'Adobe Fire', 'Midnight Bronze Obsidian' - love!
The photo is mounted on the packaging...which I try to do as it is equally lovely!
I've used a few My2angels 'Gardenia', 'Daughter charm', 'fancy pins' - love!
...and finished embellishing with Prima flowers from 'Something Blue' collection.

Photo is of me and my Mum...at the beach..

White with One - July - Marsala

Yes another Pantone colour with an unusual name!!

MARSALA

And,
It is Pantones official colour of the year for 2015
and its such a lovely warm/wintery type colour!

[marsala4.jpg]

I searched my sprays, inks, flowers and papers and accumulated a bunch of 'Marsala' coloured items to create this layout -

The background paper is Kaisercraft 'Fly Free' and I had spritzed it with Charcoal and the Flutter stencil before deciding it wasn't what I wanted... it happens? lol But the background was still perfect for this challenge! I swiped Prima White Crackle and sprayed with Memories Mist 'Ameretto' (perfect colour for this month!) while it was still wet...still no patience!
The Butterfly Grid was purchased from Georgia Heald when she sold off her 'stuff', would love to credit the company but I'm not sure, no packaging, sorry?
Lindys Stamp Gang 'Bucccaneer Bronze', Dylusion 'Melted Chocolate' and Prima 'Worn Leather' were sprayed here and there...
Finished embellishing with a Gardenia from My2angels, Maya Road 'brown leaf pins' - and a perfect photo of my gorgeous Nana (she is 96!)

Kaisercraft - Little One - baby room decor - Tuesday14/7/15

On the Kaisercraft blog today the DT have created Baby room Decor items with the
LITTLE ONE collection

I was sent the
Hot Air Balloon Mobile
(sshhh it was months ago, but I was waiting for the right collection!)

I haven't created a 'mobile',
but rather have altered the pieces to create a decorative basket,
 to store powders and lotions,
to keep them at hand in the nursery room.

'Hot Air Balloon storage box'

LO

Kaisercraft products - SB2362 Up in the Clouds Mobile | P1884 Mia | P1885 Ruby | P1883 Zoe | P1882 Jack | F640 Paper blooms 'Fairy Floss' | F657 Mini Paper Blooms 'Fairy Floss' | F656 Mini Paper Blooms ' Fuchsia' | KM110 'Pink' Mist | KM107 'Peach' Mist |
Other - small wooden crate | Pink Grosgrain Ribbon | Silver Kindyglitz

It's not that 'baby' so the decorative box could possibly be used in a little girls room too!

Scrapping Outback - July Challenge

Scrapping Outback has a fabulous challenge each month...
"White with a Twist"
You must use white and at least one piece of chipboard, and of course, these great colours - easy right? You can also use a little black, if you like!
This month the team has added a bonus if you use the chipboard component in an interesting way.
This had me thinking...

I started with Authentique "Lively" collection - 'Bright' & 'Spirited' - yes, old range, but the perfect shade of pink and orange!
Used one as the background piece...covered randomly with Prima 'white crackle paste' and the other had every 'orange' flower fussy cut from it!
While the crackle was still wet I spritzed a little Heidi Swapp 'Coral' and Prima 'Tangerine' and tipped the paper so it dribble 'everywhere' - fun!
The chipboard (bought from Georgia Heald's stash sale) was heat embossed with Stampin' Up! 'Tangerine Tango' and while it was still 'hot' sprinkled with some white Utee, reheated then spritzed with Lindys Stamp Gang 'Hottie Patottie Hot Pink' - also flicked around the page!
The round chipboard circle was smeared with Faber Castell 'Glass glitter bead gel' and while still wet (no  patience here!! haha) flicked with the Lindy's 'hot pink' the 'S' has been coloured with Izink 'Geranium' - a different way of using it?
Finished embellishing with a couple of Kaisercraft paper blooms in 'Coral', a velum and metal disc, white metal flower (from my friend Sharon), a snippet of lace doily, heart brad and lace bow!

And, another page for little Sienna's album!!

Scrap with Us group - July challenge

A lovely group I'm in on facebook -
 Scrap with Us,
has a sketch each month by Jody Urquhart.
This is the sketch for July

Jody also said " I would like to see your background as any other shape but square on this one! The sketch uses a hexagon, but my example is an artisian shape! I have also created a funky ribbon banner on this one rather than your everyday type banner!"

and this is what I did...

I started with Prima 'Envoy' from the Divine Collection by Jodie Lee...the 'shape' is made from irridescent paper (been waiting patiently in my stash ;) lol) The random chipboard flower and leaf has been sprayed with Heidi Swapp 'Sea foam' and Kaisercraft 'Pink' - the Memory Maze 'adore' the same. The photo mount is some old packaging!
The gardenia from My2angels was spritzed lightly with Prima 'Cotton Candy', and added to the cluster with a Prima 'Something Blue' flower, a Manor House Creations flower and a Funky Flair (from my prize win!) A laser cut for a little pretty!
The banner has a little twine along with an assortment of mini flowers including a couple of paper clay ones!

The photo was taken when Alex met Sienna for the first time...Emily was just lucky to have been at Nana and Grandad's that day!

Kaisercraft - Alison's day - Marvellous Monday - 6th July 2015

It's JULY and that means we start our new term...have you seen all the fabulous new team!!
Did you know all the DT have our own day on the Kaisercraft blog!!
How exciting!!
So far this month, you'll have seen Anita and Amanda's designs - aren't they clever!!
Just wait till you see what everyone else has done..

So, I had a giant box full of
 BOTANICA,
LITTLE ONE
FLY FREE
...so many choices...what to do?

I created for the challenge days for the month and then made a little bit more!

FLY FREE
I loved the combination of Pink and the shades of Green!!

_DSC0071

When our niece sent me a selection of photos with baby Sienna it was easy to choose this one to use with the Fly Free collection - How great are the Specialty papers with each collection, I've just trimmed this one into quarters and re-adhered into the corners!

There is also this fabulous Tangerine and Lime combination...
"Laughter" card by Alison Bevis

_DSC0063

I love a 'Rectangular' card (CD511 card pack C6 White). I've only used one sheet of patterned paper, P1896 Confidante - by trimming the 'green circle' and off-setting it over the reverse you're able to only show 2 colours! I also chose a couple of Collectables (CT833) in those colours to layer and finished by setting a Fern Sparklet (RS419) as the flower centre. There was even enough leftover paper to line the envelope!

The so so beautiful BOTANICA was next to catch my eye...

"Beautiful" layout by Alison Bevis

_DSC0060

I chose to cut 'P1872 Plant' almost in half, and reverse the green side to sit the opposite way. After adhering them back together, I sprayed KM104 'Lime Green' over the Flutter template (T607). By also using the images from the specialty paper (PS416 Vine), the Collectables (CT831) and the Sticker Sheet (SS286) you can gather a garden of leaves and herbal flowers to layer around your photo! Everything was inked with IP704 'Amethyst'. The paper blooms F643 'Amethyst' are the perfect shade and there is even a mini paper bloom (F661 Black). Finish by flicking a little Antique Gold (KM102) - the bottle is almost finished...it's such a great colour!!

...and TAGS are easy to create, so I did two!
'Two Tags' by Alison Bevis

_DSC0061

I cut out some basic tag shapes from Smooth White cardstock (CD650) and then proceeded to layer patterned papers (P1878 Air, P1877 Stem, P1880) Distressed all the edges and inked them with IP732 Orchid. The Sticker sheet (SS286) has the tabs and more herbal images... finish by adding a couple of Paper Blooms in Amethyst (F643) and a little lace (EM928 Natural and EM926 White).

I love to make cards... the next 5 cards are made with ONLY  the Paper Pad (PP973)

_DSC0066

and another couple...

_DSC0064

and one with a little of that delicate shade of lavendar..

_DSC0065

All five cards have different Square card bases (CD506 Olive, CD504 Brown, CD503 Black, CD505 Natural and CD501 White) and everything was inked with either IP702 Aubergine, IP732 Orchid or IP704 Amethyst - done!

The new baby range, LITTLE ONE has images of Hot Air Balloons...my favourites right now!
"Princess Sienna" layout by Alison Bevis

_DSC0058

By covering some of the alphabet letters with P1884 Mia and keeping the 'S' from the specialty paper (PS417 ABC) I was able to include it in the title. Then it was time for a little spritzing... I already had the 'Flutter' template on my desk (T607) - must of had a thing for butterflies this month? - and then randomly sprayed KM104 'Lime Green', KM107 'Peach', KM106 'Orange' and Km110 'Pink' (the colours mix together, and I like that!) Add a little paper from the Paper Pad (PP974) and ink everything with IP712 'Rose'. To highlight the 'S' I added some Mini Paper Blooms in 'Fairy Floss' (F657) and the little flowers from the Sticker Sheet 'Girls' (SS288) - I couldn't go past the Title 'Princess', for this gorgeous girl, and added her name with White Alphas (AS252) - finished embellishing with a couple of Collectables (CT832)...and there is another page finished for her album!

I try to keep a few "Boy and Girl cards" in my stash as they always come in handy!!
These will be perfect for some upcoming 'first' birthdays...

_DSC0062

Created with just the Paper Pad (PP974), Collectables (CT832), Square White cards (CD501) and a little ink IP701 'Teal' and IP712 'Rose' - easy!!

After spraying the Flutter template (T607) from the layout above, I 'stamped' it onto my Kraft Journal page with all the residual ink - no waste!

_DSC0067

and just stickers from the Sticker Sheet 'Girl' (SS288)...just a simple page to remind me that family is precious!

I still have a few projects upcoming, so keep an eye on the blog each day!!
Hope you find some time to create today!
