Blue Fern Studios - April Challenge

I'm a big fan of the Blue Fern Studios chipboard and papers...

and look forward to the challenge -
the challenge for April is,

See!! Such a fabulous sketch to use with fabulous chipboard and papers!!
So what did I create?

THIS...

I chose a Blue Fern Studios 'Ombre Dreams - Shannon's Dream' sheet of paper - it is seriously beautiful as it is, so you don't need to do too much to it!
I decided to snip apart the Blue Fern Studios 'Industrial Corner' and then heat embossed it randomly with Lindy's Stamp gang 'Under the Boardwalk' (Raspberry Lemonade, Orange Creamsicle, Poprock Purple and Merry-go-round Green) and used the leftover powders to sprinkle under the vertical strip - looks so pretty!
A little spritzing, here and there with Prima Colour Bloom 'Cotton Candy' and Heidi Swapp 'Coral' Colour shine and I used a 'wipe' to remove the excess so it was soft and delicate.
Of course it needs a little floristry and I love Prima and Manor House Creations flowers - I've used a couple from the 'Something Blue - at the Altar' & 'Velvet Rainbow(pastel)' and assorted MHC ones.
The title chipboard "LOVE" from Blue Fern Studios, the 'Good Vibes' packet -  I dabbed my finger with a little Mont Marte 'Dimension' in Zinc White and while my finger was still wet, I dabbed a little on the flowers, leaves and springs too! I finished the title with some Thickers 'Nutmeg'.

This photo hung in a frame up the stairs of our home till recently...and now will be added into Larissa's album!!

Charms Creations "Super Star" challenge

After I created the BOY layout with the 'Super Star' I decided I should do a GIRL one too...
So here is the PINK "Super Star" for the Charms Creations Challenge -

I started with a Bo Bunny, Double Dot Designs 'Passion Fruit Journal' page and trimmed to 30x30cm. I randomly placed joint tape on the left hand side and Gesso'ed (Prima Heavy, from the Art Basics) the Donna Downey 'Signature strencil' on the right hand side....spritzed a little Prima Colour Bloom 'Cotton Candy' and a smear of Glitter paste. The Twiddleybitz 'Fern leaf large' was rubbed with Inka Gold "Rose Quartz' - before adhering the little resin frame around the photo and clustering a CHARMS CREATION pink 'Super Star', a My2angels mulberry flower and some Manor House Creations Flowers, a Miss Rose & Sister Violet velvet flower and a smattering of Prima 'Hello Pastel' Say it in Crystals here and there - done!!

This gorgeous girl is our Niece, Larissa - she was just a few months old in this photo and turned 7 last week - about time I created some more pages for her album, I know!

Charms Creations "Super Star" challenge

Charms Creations embellishments are handmade!
They are also super cute...
There is a facebook page and group to follow - the group has a challenge which is due April 15th,
...you still have time to enter!!

so I thought I'd create a layout using a 'super star' and although I have not used the quote, the sentiment is true for this photo!

I asked Charmane to send me an assortment of colours...I love orange! So, of course it is the one I used first - I started with a piece of Kaisercraft cardstock (CD153 denim) and smeared a dollop of modelling paste then squiggled through it, and let it dry. I spritzed some Prima Colour Bloom in 'Cobalt' and 'Summer sky' along with Memories Mist in 'Blue Hawaiian' - through the Kaisercraft Quarters template (bit hard to see in the photo) and finished with a bit of Chalkboard 'Banana Pudding' - snipping up some My2angels black star felt and adding a bit here and there before adhering the star as a frame. I always like to heat emboss (anything!) but chipboard always looks great... the Scrapmatts 'string circles' were randomly sprinkled white utee and then inked with Tim Holtz 'Salty Ocean'. The Blue Fern Studios 'Adorable' uses Stampin' Up! 'Tangerine tango' - 'Just Saying' uses Stampendous 'Marine' and the frame I cut in half and used under each word has Lindy's Stamp Gang 'Desert Moon' - to finish the embellishments, a denim star, button and a couple of beads - was still missing a border, so I doodled one with a white Pitt pen - FUN!!

Kaisercraft Design Team 2015 Entry

It has been an AMAZING year on the Kaisercraft Contributing Design Team 2014/15...it is seriously THE best fun for anyone who LOVES Kaisercraft - that is ME!!
I find that the deadlines to create projects for the blog, the Workshop magazine and for CHA 2015 made me think outside the square, and to show how versatile each and every collection can be...
...but now the call has gone out for some new ladies to join the team and also for some of us who'd like to continue our journey...

The requirements are to create "a Layout, a Beyond the Page/Altered Item and a Mixed Media item or Card."

So this is what I've created -

TYSON memorial frame
My Brother-in-law lost his pet dog last year and I've procrastinated about creating a frame for him - I just wanted to do their relationship justice and provide him with a lasting memory - I was going to use the photo with last months "Furry Friends" collection but then the 'call' came and I hoped it would be a simple but respectful frame to hang in his home (he hasn't seen it yet, so fingers crossed he likes it?) I was able to include Tyson's collar and tags and my favourite photo printed in black & white as well as one when he was a puppy.

Kaisercraft products - Large Frame, CB150 Uppercase alpha chipboard, CB153 Corrugated card, CB152 Cork sheet, FL305 Wood flourish 'Frames', SS277 Sticker sheet 'dog'.
Other - store bought photo frame simply covered with crackle paint.

"Remember this Moment, Forever" Layout

This photo of our two Daughters a couple of years ago is still one of my favourites!
It would of been easy to use any of the patterned papers to create a beautiful layout BUT I have only used a little black & white cardstock to die cut some doilies, the title and leaves!
Kaisercraft has the most fabulous designs of DIES being released that co-ordinate with the collections AND April has the release of TEN NEW MISTS...they are so shimmery and such lovely colours, that I thought I'd just use them...with some paper blooms and a little wood (as I think everything needs a little Wood Flourish!)

Kaisercraft products - CB154 Chipboard, T608 Honeycomb, KM110 Pink, KM109 Red, KM106 Orange, KM103 Yellow, KM104 Lime Green, KM105 Turquoise, KM106 Denim, CD102 Licorice, CD101 Coconut, FL406 Vines, DD504 DOlies, DD500 Script Words, F667 Mini blooms 'Coral', F648 'Sea Breeze, F650 'Green' F663 'Hot PInk' F627 'Coconut', CS890 Dictionary Meanings, CS154 Film Edges, FL474 Bees, EM926 Lace pack 'White', ST916 Delicate words, DD516 'Vines'.
Other - Derivan 'Gesso' to cover and seal the chipboard, Modelling paste with the Honeycomb template & edges and some Ink for stamping.

White and Gold Tag

Yes, I could have created a card - easy! But when I was going through my stash of Wood Flourishes, I came across the 'Door Frame' and thought it would be perfect as a big tag...which could then be added to a layout? Then I limited myself to just "White and Gold"... and this is what I created...

Kaisercraft products - FL528 Door frame, PS398 Polka dot Glitter, EM926 Lace pack 'white', KM102 Antique Gold, DD102 Mannequin, DD306 Keys & Locks, F627 Paper Blooms 'White', All that Glitters, FL434 Bows, DD522 Berry Vine.
Other - Gold embossing powder for the key and lock, and Gold Kindyglitz for all those dots!

I just want to wish everyone who has poured their hearts into creating some beautiful projects for a chance to be chosen on the Kaisercraft Design Team all the very best...and of course, we are adding pages to our albums for the generations to come, so we all win!!

Scrapping Outback March challenge

Still loving the Scrapping Outback challenge...

...the cocktail for March is -

...it was fun finding some of these colours, and this is what I created with them -

Starting with a piece of WHITE cardstock, I spattered various brown stains and mists... I heat embossed the Twiddleybitz and Blue Fern Studios chipboard pieces with Lindy's Stamp Gang (Under the Boardwalk) Stampendous before spritz a little Glimmermist 'Jack Frost' LSG 'Buccanneer Bronze' and Prima 'Summer Sky' - before finally adding some Prima and Manour House Creations blooms.

Love this photo of our beautiful Niece, Larissa

White with one - "Hemlock"

March brings a new colour in the White with One challenge....
and it is -

and this is what I created with this lovely colour and of course, with White!!

Starting with a piece of white cardstock, I sprayed Heidi Swapp 'Seafoam' through the Dina Wakely Stencil 'Affirmations', only covering half the sheet and stamped with the excess ink (& again in my journal). I tore I strip of Kaisercraft 'All that glitters' and adhered this to the centre; Sprayed the gloss sheet from the Kaisercraft "On Stage' paper pad, and adhered this in the bottom left hand corner. Kaisercraft has new stencils (sshh...to be released in April) and used Modelling paste and, as I have only a small amount of patience, spritzed the 'seafoam' while it was still wet. I heat embossed 'white Utee' on the chipboard circle frame, then spritzed more 'seafoam'. I then heat embossed with Lindy's Stamp Gang powder (Merry-go-round Green) a piece of chipboard (From Georgia's stash sale!) before a little 'floristry' with some Prima blooms, Martha Stewart ribbon bow, a Basic Grey 'metal embellishment' and pearls and lace leaves from TJ's Scrappin' with Style.

My friend, Jacqui organised a small group of ladies to meet Janet - who had recently relocated from South Australia...always lovely to meet new Scrapbookers, especially ones who are so fabulous!! We drove up to Yamanto and shared lunch at the Tavern before a quick photo to document the day. I have this copy, as Jacqui included it in an envelope she recently handed to me - Thank you!!
