Dusty Attic - July Challenge

While I was browsing on the 1st of July, I came across this fabulous mood board over at -
The Dusty Attic

I wasn't sure if it was the colours or that lovely inspiration picture?
So I searched my chipboard stash...
and found the lovely 'Reeds #2' packet!
When I went to look for a photo, I found this one of me and my Grandfather at the beach, and thought it was the perfect shade in the colours (original photo!)
I also found a sheet of Kaisercraft 'Antique Bazzaar' that I had previously dribbled some leftover resin across - the resin almost looks like water?

Vintage Soul

The REEDS #2 were covered in Crackle paint 'Pine Needles', 'Aged Mahogany' and 'another which I can't recall' (lol) and left to dry naturally!
I bought a packet of 'netting' from Neha over at  Auzz Trinklets and chopped off a section to adhere across the centre section - it is actually old fishing net, how cool is that!
The 'Mini Words #3' were heat embossed with Adirondack 'Stream' and Ranger 'Verdigris' - and some pinches were also sprinkled over the glue I used to adhered the netting - bonus?
White lace was sprayed with Distress Spray 'Cracked Pistachio', 'Mermaid Lagoon' and Heidi Swapp 'Navy' - and twisted with wire to make clusters!
Finished embellishing with a "Charms Creation" 'Map marker' - handmade embellishments combining felt, canvas, book  print and other options - find her on Facebook!
The photos were matted with old Prima packaging - my favourite photo mats!
...and one of my favourite photos with my Grandfather,

Love Cherish Adore Layout

Love, Cherish, Adore layout for our niece Christine - Created at the my2angels 2015 Retreat - such a lovely weekend away with friends!!

I started with a sheet of white cardstock and mixed pink and purple Gelatos with Whipped Spackle and spread it across the page - messy fun!
The black scallop card was then adhered to the centre left of the page and the Kutalicious acrylic squares adhered above and below the photo. A couple of random chipboard flourishes were added and then the fun started...

There was heaps of my2angels handmade embellishments, flowers and other bits at the Retreat... so easy to match colours perfectly!
Included are Family purple and silver charming chain - which I snipped and used the parts individually - very versatile!
Pink Cherry blossoms - can always add a flower or two!
Bakers Twine Blossom - Light Pink& White - often twine is better than ribbon - easier to include in masculine or feminine projects and comes in a varieties of colours!
and there is also
a sparkly Butterfly - signifies new life... an new sister!
Rhinestones in pink and clear - love a bit of bling!
purple buttons - on special at Retreat..

....and a couple of Scrapmatts word tiles, random chipboard pen nibs and a Prima resin key.

Love you, Sienna layout - created at the 2015 My2angels Retreat

I didn't take much to the Retreat - just a 12x12 storage box with cardstock and a few bits and pieces!
I had some green coredinations tags left so I created another page -
the top one for the date and place, and the bottom one is left empty for her Mum to journal on!

I scribbled green Gelato in a vertical strip, sprayed with water and allowed to drip left - I did this twice and although it is difficult to see, there is a few colour variations.
I also had 3 Prima ATC cards that matched - these were adhered in a vertical strip, with the tags on top.
Then I went shopping at the My2angels Retreat
The Yellow Sead Beads were adhered with Glossy accents and allowed to 'drip' - then dried!
I pulled apart some magnolias which allowed me to add some of the remaining yellow seed beads as a centre and also added a Rhinestone  - easily changing the colour with an alcohol marker!
The flowers clusters also have a little Gypsophila - if you buy cream or white you can easily change the colour with sprays or reinkers!
The tags all have a double bow with Bakers Twine
the finishing touch is the Green Embossed Felt Heart - you get 4 for $1 - love them!

There is one small Prima flower and a little extra chipboard but almost everything comes from

The photo is of my great niece Sienna.... another page for her album!

Cheer up Buttercup layout - My2angels 2015 Retreat

Cheer up Buttercup layout
of our daughter, Emily
- Created at the 2015 My2angels Retreat

I am liking Kraft cardstock as a base more and more!
I scribbled cream, yellow, orange and red in long stripes on the left hand side, then sprayed with water and tipped the sheet so the drips kept moving!
The chipboard title was also graduated across with the same colours.
A yellow spotty packet is the base which everything is adhered around - a kraft photo mat, Prima atc card and some leftover white cardstock as a banner.

Again, it was so easy at the My2angels Retreat to colour match all of the embellishments... such an easy way to shop!
Starting from the yellow side I added some Yellow Star flowers
Tangerine 'Together' Filligree - these come in a variety of words and colour choices!

A little crochet doiley, a paper straw and a metal vellum circle finished this layout without too much stuff on the page - the resin rose is the bulkiest item!

Just need to journal the reason for the sad face...

Christmas in July - My2angels 2015 Retreat

Well it was a Christmas in July Retreat theme this year...so I created a Christmas layout!

Again started with a sheet of white cardstock, then scribbled various Green Gelatos and spritzed with water to 'blend' them together - I took the Gelatos as my source of colouring for the weekend - easy, fun and made me think of different ways to use them!
The two chipboard trees have each been scribbled across then spritzed with water to achieve a good covering. The red coredination tags were adhered in a little grid pattern as a base for the photos and embelishments.
One of my favourite My2angels products are the Red embossed Felt Stars - there is 4 in a packet for only $1 - bargain!
I also adhered the sparkly Red Glitter Ribbon along the base as strips and also used it for the tags bows and fancy knots - I used almost one metre, and its on special for 65c...perfect!
The Silver Rhinestone Star at the top and bottom were easy to apply, and there is still the smallest size left for a Christmas card!
The finishing touch is that Star charm on the top tag!

Photo is from  Christmas Day celebrations 2010 at Nanny Ju's place with Great Nana, my Brother Scott, Sister-in-law Susanne and all the children - lovely memories..

Kraft Plus - July - Mustard explosion

The Kraft Plus challenge for July,
yes, just in time!
Lucky I found some spare time at the
My2angels Retreat last weekend..

So, I used Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint - easy!

Started with a piece of Kaisercraft 'Kraft' and drizzled the Crackle Paint along the centre line and tipped the cardstock to allow the paint to drip...always fun!
The black lace borders come from the leftovers from when Aunty Sandra created Geli's card kit - Graphic 45 papers - I just used the black frames and strips.
To embellish there is a Prima flower and heart stick, a Charms Creations 'map marker' in yellow, a couple of pieces of doiley, some crystal sticks from Tj's Scrapping with Style, the metal frame has been waiting patiently in my stash for many, many years (it's Pink Paislee) there is a couple of coredinations tags, a Flair (Won as a prize from Funky Flair Studio), "Ride" is a few scrabble tiles (bought from Georgia Heald's sale)  and finish with a couple of Scrapmatts words!

Photo is our daughter Emily riding her tricycle many years ago..

Kaisercraft - Little One - Modern baby layouts - Thursday 16th July

It's so easy to create a baby layout with the new LITTLE ONE collection,
....with the prints of elephants, Hot Air Balloons and Owls!

When I saw we were to create a 'modern' layout, I was initially thinking a minimalistic style, with a few strategic items placed here and there, so I created this....

"Little Boy" layout by Alison Bevis

Kaisercraft products - P1884 Mia, P1886 Noah, P1887 Harry, P1882 Jack, CT832 Collectables, SS287 Sticker Sheet 'Boy', Ip701 Teal.

To cut a circle in your page, without fancy tools, just trace a plate? Then ink or even distress the edges if your cutting isn't 'perfect' - easy! You're then left with the outline which you can use for another layout - bonus!

A page for little Wayne's album...
